I actually cant find a wah pedal im happy with.

What i'm looking for is a decent pedal that will sound about right, in most situations. I'm more of a heavy player, but i cant really describe my style, haha.

Erm, the point is, ive tryed a lot of the tried and tested pedals and found them majorly underwhelming, Characterless even.

Is this a case of me being overly-critical?
And could some people suggest something a bit different on the wah pedal front?
Thanks.

Also, i've noticed a lot of threads on wah pedals, but haven't found any suggestions as to what kinda pedal would suit what i'm looking for.

What have you tried? I like the Budda Bud-wah, and the Bad Horsey is good. I like the new Zakk Cry-baby too. Or you could get the fulltone Clyde.

Ive tried all of the popular choices that people make, including most of the crybabies, which to be honest sucked real bad for me.

A friend of mine had a zakk wylde one, and i found it a bit.. Flat.

You should check out the Fulltone Clydes. They have different inductors to choose from and the sweep is adjustable. Do you like the more mid-rangey wahs, or more treble boosty ones? I think the original Bad Horsie is anything but flat, it has a treble boost right at the end of the sweep which is cool for leads.

i'll certainly check that out.

Also, where the Bad Horsie is concerned, ive not been able to try one on account of not being able to find one i can borrow or try out in-store.

Thanks for the help, i'll get back with my findings

The BH-2 is the BH-1 plus an adjustable "contour" setting. It's sort of an attempt at 2 wahs in one box...

I own the BadHorsie 2 & love it! It's worth x-tra ....the volume & contour controls are great, especially for dailing in a very specific tone: ie recording situations that can change minute to minute. I have had it for a few years & it can take some punishment also. Good luck!

Have you tried the Crybaby 535Q by chance, or the Vox Big-Bad-Wah (Satriani's new signature wah)?

I am potentially interested in either of those two. ('Satch influence, obviously) I'd be curious to hear your take on them.

Thanks.

Did you try the Buddy Guy Crybaby? In 'Deep' mode it's great for metal, especially in a band situation where some wahs can become lost.

Crybaby was alright, i guess.
As for the big bad wah, i havent managed to get ahold of one of those yet, either.
(signature pedals seem to be hard to find here, haha.)
Although people seem to love 'em, from looking at reviews on here.
