I have an RG 2770 I am thinking of selling. It is blue. Does anyone know how many were made and what they sold for new?

Re: Ibanez rg 2770

I got one of those. They are pretty rare as they were only produced for the japanese market in 2004. I have no idea what they costed in Japan new that year, but I paid $800 for mine from SYL via this forum, because it had a small ding. He sold another one at the same time for $1000. Do a search and you'll find the thread. You can also see a picture of mine at: http://trond.ulseth.no/index.cfm/2007/2/5/My-new-guitar Hope this helps. (If I had the money I would offer to buy it myself)

Hey Trond! How's it going?

Brooks, the 2770 is a very cool guitar. Good luck with the sale.

Hey Dee. All is well here. The 2770 rocks. I'm also in the process of bringing back to life my very first guitar - a very customized RG340 (If I don' remember the model number wrong). I'll post a pic when it's ready

Also looking to change out my amp. Pretty much deceided on a Engl Powerball. After that I'll save up to the effects - maybe a TC Electronic G-system.

brooks - hope you don't feel your thread being hijacked - the 2770 is really a extremly good guitar - as Dee said - good luck with the sale.

Re: Ibanez rg 2770

I think the pricerange of $ 800-1000 is what the seller HOPES to get.

The sellers very often try to make an impression of how rare these instruments are, and also how difficult it is to find one.

Bear in mind that there are numerous of Ibanez models, basically the same, and that the numbers of potential buyers are very limited.

I paid $600 for my 2770 and itīs almost mint.

Re: Ibanez rg 2770

$600 for a 2770 is very cheap - and considering you live in Sweden, where the prices for musical equipment is as crazy as in Norway, you got extremly much guitar for the money

As for how rare they are - just try and find any information about them on the web - you won't come up with much. This is the only place I really found something: http://jcustom.web.fc2.com/prestige/rg2770fm.htm

What color is yours? Do you have any pictures? Always interesting to exchange info with fellow 2720 owners

Re: Ibanez rg 2770

Who said I bought it in Sweden? Ifīd bought it in Sweden I would have paid in SEK, right?

Since I paid $600, it was bought in the States.

Again, $800-1000 is far too expensive.

Re: Ibanez rg 2770

Sorry if I did not make my self clear - what I meant that since you live in Sweden, which has much the same prices for new guitars as Norway (a new RG 2620 - and the 2770 is a far better guitar - costs equal to 2200USD in Norway these days) you were able to get a good guitar for the money - no mather where you actually bought it.

I myself bought my 2770 from SYL (another jemsite member) who lives in Australia. I payed $800 plus shipping and on top of that 25% vat for taking it into Norway - and I think it's worth every penny.

I guess what price is right is in the eye of the beholder

Anyway, Brooks asked what they are sold for new. That can't be answered since they were only sold new in Japan in 2004 - except some shops that might have bought them from Japan to resell. So I reportet on what I know - that SYL sold his two 2770's for $800 and $1000 used.
