Ibanez Super Grip Whammy Bar

Is it my imagination or did I see some sort of Ibanez "super grip" or so whammy bar floating around in an ibanez catelog a few years ago.

Anyone know if they are still around or where you can still get them?

Cheers

Sure Grip, I love 'em, been using them for years now. They don't exist anymore but I've got about 30 of the Sure Grip sleeves in stock

Once you try'em you'll have to buy'em, like I did. The things are addicting ... or something.

Strange, I never heard of these; what is different about them, what sort of advantages do they offer?

They're on the parts page right under trem arms. They're $4.

If you get used to them a bare bar will be uncomfortable. They'll definately add a little flutter, also slows down the hz a little kinda like changing a LoPro to an Edge. I just started using them to clamp the bar to the body because they're "protective" of the finish, within a week I was hooked using them for playing, and I always hated a high bar. My bars were always bent lower and these will make your bar even a touch higher, not like I still couldn't bend the bar, I guess I just got used to it, go figure.

Weird - I always preferred a high bar. Maybe I'll give them another shot...

So it is not actually a whammy bar, its just a rubber sleeve you slide on the existing one?

Any chance of a photo?

They sold them as a finished bar or as just the sleeve. There is a pic in one of the catalogs somewhere, I don't have time to go find it.

The other thing that is good about them is that they're cushioned and easier to grip. Especially if you use your palm on the bar.

Yup, after you use one the regular bar feels like it's bitting into your hand, I'll take soft and comfy especially as violent as I get with them
