Increasing wah sweep

My Crybaby doens't have a wide enough EQ sweep when I'm using distortion. Anyone know how I can increase the sweep so that it gives a more pronounced "wah" over a wider EQ spectrum?

Thanx,

Dave

Re: Increasing wah sweep

Not really familiar with any eq tweaks but my guitar tech did show me this trick where you grind the rubber front feet down which allows you too (supposedly) get more range. Anybody else ever tried this?

Re: Increasing wah sweep

i find that the wah becomes more pronounced if you turn down the gain a little bit and boost the mids.

Re: Increasing wah sweep

yep, look up the vocal mod on wah modding sites, it's a simple resistor change and it's aaaawesome, gives you wah more WAAOH, i also true bypassed mine, added an on/off switch and more bass response but i'm gonna undo the bass response mod

Re: Increasing wah sweep

Take off the rubber pads on the moving part.

I put a 120K resistor for the vocal mod it sounds great. But Keep the value on the Midrange mod resistor low if you are going to a vocal mod.

Re: Increasing wah sweep

Are they're any mods that reduce the hiss my Crybaby makes?

Re: Increasing wah sweep

You only can reduce the hiss by changing the potentiometer. It's hard to clean them well because they are sealed, but try for example Caig ("DeoxIT FaderLube" [formerly CaiLube MCL] )products, they are especially designed for aged/used pots. Aged pots always use to be more noise.
