John Petrucci Piezo

So, I was at a music store a while back playing a MM JP6 guitar. Which had the Piezo trem in it. Very nice trem.

Well, I was wondering if there is a trem out there that is similar to the one featured on the John Petrucci guitars.

Thanks.

Re: John Petrucci Piezo

There are a few, but I dont think any of them are quite as good as the JP trem.
Have a look at the Gotoh 510 series, Suhr use them on their guitars (Floyd, 2 point and vintage style 6 point trems)
If you want the Piezo, the LR Baggs X-Bridge is a non-locking Piezo bridge.

I have not had a chance to play an ebmm petrucci, but the parker fly has a piezo equipped trem with locking tuners, a similar setup. (with stereo output)

Re: John Petrucci Piezo

I've owned two MMJP's, My favorite feature was the Peizo. Simply amazing! It is in no way close to the regular clean. The peizo adds so much depth, atmosphere, and overall tonal beauty, that I have not been able to find on any other guitar. I would DEFINETLY go to a guitar center or sam ash, and plug one into a fender twin to experience a breath taking clean.

I added Graphtech ghost saddles to my PRS cu24 - they are pretty good at doing an acoustic sound but I mainly use them just like that - blended in through the twin to get a clean sound. It wasn't the plan but it turned out to be my favourite clean
