Korg AX1500G - Any good, pros, cons etc

I had this unit recommended to me by a friend on the net and I was wondering if any has either got one or tried one. I phoned my local music shops and none of them stock it so I'd have to order it.
So, pros, cons, whats good about it, is it durable etc
I play in a cover band/metal band (writing our own stuff) but it's modern metal (i like my mids, wouldn't mind a Legacy too!) so I need a variety of FX. The only thing I'm thinking of buying separetely is a harmonizer or a pitch shifter (something like the whammy or a boss unit.)

Thanks everyone in advance!

Joe

P.S I'm really looking for more of an FX unit, so distortions and modelling aren't too important, the important thing is the amount and quality of FX.
If the Korg isn't very good for this, can anyone suggest anything else?
Thanks

One of my friends has one actually and he plays for a metal cover band.

When we have had Jam sessions in the past it has stood up very well. It can do everything basically and is one of the best multi effects pedals on the market. It sounds fantastic and looks fantastic.

If i didnt already have my V-Amp 2 I would have got one!
I would go for it if i was you, it is an excellent unit i thought.

Well if all you need is FX, then I would go with a G-Major. I don't think there is a better piece of gear out there in this price range when you consider the quality of the FX.

If you need a multi FX + modelling, then I the a Boss GT-6 would be better than the Korg.

I haven't played the Korg but i have a Gt 6. Effects are great, some distortions are pretty good but amp sims aren't very good.
