Laney VC15 Combo

I've been looking for a small tube practice combo with enough gain for hard rock and the capability to switch between clean and distorted channels.

From looking at the Laney site, the VC15 has everything I've been searching for. It's 15 watts - just enough power for nice bedroom levels, yet enough power to cut through a jam with other musicians. Clean and dirty channels and an Accutronics spring reverb. These sell new in the US for around $475 - $500.

Here's my dilema - There isn't a Laney dealer within 100 miles of the Baltimore area. I've seen a few #bay dealers offering these for sale with a 72 hour return notice grace period, but I'm still a little gun-shy.

Have any of you played or owned the VC15? If so, what's she really sound like?

Re: Laney VC15 Combo

Actually... why not grab a tube amp with good cleans, that you like, and pump it up with good pedals?

With pedals like www.subdecay.com 's blackstar or www.skreddypedals.com 's Screwdriver, you'd be hard pressed to even hear the difference since they sound very amp-like.

Okay, just noted its an old thread. but since i've typed out a bunch, I'll just Post Quick Reply.
