Laney VH100R and Rack Pre-Amp question
I wanna use an outboard Rack Pre-Amp with my VH100R using the Pre-In socket on the back of the amp. I've done it using my old ADA MP1 and it sounds way better than just putting it in the input! The problem with doing this is that it renders the volume and tone controls useless... I can cotrol the volume with the Pre-Amp but unless I go routing around in the patches I can't change the tone, And we all know that no two venues sound the same! I'm looking for a new Pre-Amp and quite fancy the Rocktron Voodu Valve but it has no easy access tone shaping like say the Rocktron Prophesy which has a full compliment on the front pannel. I want to keep using a valve Pre-Amp too so the Prophesy is no good! Will I need to also get an outboard Graphic pedal/Rack to do this or is there another answer?
