Line 6 Spider 4 + some drive pedals?

hi guys ,
i have a line 6 spider 4 75 , and i was thinking in buy a behringer pedal , a orverdrive one, http://www.behringer.com/EN/Products/OD400.aspx
( for give me a crunch tone , like stevie ray , or to give more gain and sustain on a solo )

and this one:
http://www.behringer.com/EN/Products/VT911.aspx
( i would let it on a clean tone, just to give me a more hot and tipical valve sound, for use on every preset of the amp )

what do you thing ? thats a good idea?wich one do you prefer?

( i like of a bluesy tone , like clapton , and stevie ray, some Van halen , ac dc , iron maiden , whitesnake, etc)

Honestly, if that's the sound you're after, I'd save your money and buy a different amp. I haven't played the Spider 4 yet, but barring the clean on the Spider Valve I haven't been impressed by anything else from that series yet.

Sounds like you'd be well served by a low-wattage tube rig - the Egnator Rebel 30 would cover most of that ground, or a Blackstar of sorts could work, though they lean a bit further towards metal.

but I do not have enough money for that, and neither will I have it.
then this would be my solution, do not think a good idea?

Well, I wouldn't buy both, for one - you could probably use the second one as a boost to crunch up the other amp models a bit more. It'll cost you much less that way.

that said, go into a guitar store with your guitar and amp and try adding a pedal and see what happens, before you buy. I suspect it won't give you the sound you're looking for from that amp, but the best way to know for sure is to go try it and then buy one if it does.

dude, if you have the opportunity to try using an OD pedal on this amp I would happily get feedback from you, cuz im thinking of buying a new MFX unit (ill be investing like 500 bucks, and I dont have much money to waste considering that im just a teenager haha)and I really wanna know if this amp is like "pedal-friendly"
thx in advance

Digitech Bad Monkey for the cheap OD pedal win...but I'd also recommend a different amp if you want to get really close to those tones. I don't know what the brazil market is, but I'd get a cheap low watt tube amp like a Peavey Classic, or the Egnater/Blackstar amps that have been recommended.

Re: Line 6 Spider 4 + some drive pedals?

Considering your looking for warm valve like overdrive how about a valve amp?-You can buy low wattage tube amps for as little as solid state in some situations.
Ive played a suhr riot, a great little distortion pedal, through a line 6 spider 3......and it sounded like a line 6 spider 3 through no fault of the pedal. In all honesty your not going to get the tone your looking for with the line 6. buy a cheap valve amp and a tubescreamer style od,
e.g. epiphone valve junior £99 and a danelectro cool cat trasparent £30.
