Well. I just bought a Dell Smart PC laptop with a 2.4GHz processor, with a great-sounding spec. But. It is sh1t. There are USB and firewire conflicts which make audio an impossibility. It is not a simple problem, but I am very disappointed.
Dell sucks. Their aftersales attitude is offensive. Don't buy Dell.

That leaves me with my desktop. It is 2 yr old beast.
PIII 800
384MB
30GB 5400

I just bought a Delta 66, which I have complementing a 2496AP.
I recommend M-audio at this price point.

I have a POD2.
Audiotechnica 3035
ShureBG58

Just got a Focusright Voicemaster Pro-great spec, but not fully tested yet.

I just upgraded to Sx.
Have Acid 4.0
and Soundforge Studio.

I have just set things up for 're-amping' via the Delta66 breakout box, and it works very well so far. There are no latency issues, and the Delata drivers seem solid.

I have modest demands on the system-only perhaps 12 tracks of audio, so the system seems adequate at present.

Hi! Easier to hit links:
http://www.nintheye.com/studio/studioframe1.html
http://www.nintheye.com/gear/gearframe1.html

Currently using Pro Tools HD3/192 system, and a Digi001 for scratch writing. Simplicity, and the HD systems give so much extra DSP power. Only way I'd go for a different DAW or analog setup would be if someone came out with identical or better, AND had a stronger Win XP "presence."

Rikk- wish I could get my rooms as neat as yours! Very nice

Hhehehee! That is actually the very first electric guitar I bought. It *was* a $100 Lark Les Paul copy I got used back in 1980. It has had too much experimenting over the years. The Ren and Stimpy graphic is actually pretty funny- after painting (repainting) the guitar, I wanted them on it. Found a pic I liked, and had a friend pencil it out on the body like I wanted. Another friend and I then corrected some little things, and took turns "coloring it in" with combos of Testors model paint-hehehehe! We actually took diff colors and blended them to get the color we wanted for diff parts. Nice and bumpy! Was been my main stage guitar for eons.

If my house caught fire tomorrow (knock on wood it doesnt), it would be the first guitar I would grab to get out. It has survived every hardship in life (some bad ones) with me. At one point, it was me, a suitcase, and that guitar. I considered getting it renovated and the graphic done professionally, but the sentimental value it has now keeps me from doing that. It's like a child to me Happy Happy...Joy Joy!

hey gemini8026! I was reading list of your equipment,
and one thing bugs me out. In what order you keep your
things? Do you put the mixer or the preamp at adiophiles
ins? And then how you do the mixing after the recording process?
These questions are stupid. But i'm not a pro!
