M-Audio Delta-44

Hi Guys

I've just been looking around on the net and I can't really find anywhere in the UK that sells these sound cards, so I'm thinking of buying from America. Would this work on a UK system? I know different voltages and stuff apply, but I was just wondering.

Also, would I be right in thinking that I can put this card into my PC, and then plug my guitar straight into there and be able to record? Or do I need somthing else? (Sorry, I'm a complete newbie)
Many thanks

You could try www.gak.co.uk.
They advertise them for£159, and are based in Brighton.
See ads in Sound on Sound etc.
I have a Delta 66 which is identical but for the addition of digital i/o.

You can plug a guitar in to one via a POD or a DI box. Plugging in directly wont give a good result.

This is what I'm worried about If i plug the guitar into my pod into my current sound card, it sounds fine. Not the best quality, but it will do. What I want to be able to do is hook up additional pedals (Like wah, whammy etc). If getting a new sound card won't really solve this, whats the best option? Do I need a mixer or somthing? (Really stupid questions I know, but like i said before, I'm a newbie :P

If the effects of your POD don't cut it, I guess you could put some external devices into the POD's loop... but I'm afraid that will only work out nice for things like reverb and delay. A wah would better be placed between your guitar and the POD's input - don't have experience with whammies, sorry...

the pod hath no loop!

what you'd want to do is use no effects on the pod and put outboard effects between your pod and board or pod and power amp.
