Mark Iv concerns :)

I'm going to be looking to get a used Mark IV head in the next month or so. I wanted to know if there are any differences between newer and older models, thing I should look out for (whether it be to avoid or vice versa). I'm know I'm aiming for the $900-$1000 range. Any info you guys can give me would be greatly appreciated .

Re: Mark Iv concerns :)

is $1000 enough for a Mark IV head? I've seen combos go for around the $1200 mark...

I've seen one go for 600-800. That was on evil bay though.

As far as i know, the more recent Mark IV's sound a bit darker, they're called Mark IVBs. The earlier ones (Mark IVAs) apparently sound more like a Mark IIC+ head.

Lots of people seem to prefer the recent models though. I played one and i couldn't care less what it sounds like. As far as i'm concerned, it sounds beautiful

Thanks that's exactly what I was looking for. I've seen quite a few of them in the 800-900 range Lefty Robb on evil bay, and a local shop. I'm not buying it new, it just has to work! lol
