Question Marshall DSL 100 vs. Mesa Boogie Stiletto Deuce

Hi guys. I want your opinions on the DSL 100 head and the Stiletto Deuce. I play modern punk rock and a little bit of metal. What amp is best for me? By the way..I have a Marshall 1960B cab and an Ibanez Prestige RGA 121 WNF..thanks

Re: Marshall DSL 100 vs. Mesa Boogie Stiletto Deuce

Of those two, the Boogie, hands down (though, an Ace may be better - more power tube saturation, and I believe all the Aces are based on the v2 layout, while the v2 Deuce is just rolling out).

If however you were considering a JCM800 and a good OD, or a 6100, vs. a Mesa Stiletto, it becomes more of a personal taste thing. An 800 needs to be LOUD but is a classic for a reason, whereas a 6100 also likes to be pushed, but will get you closer to the gain and versatility of the Mesa. The DSL's, well, they're better than the TSL's in my experience, but when people talk about the "Marshall Sound" it's not the JCM2000 series they have in mind.

Try to grab a 50 watt JCM800 or a 1987x. I would even take a JCM900 over a JCM2000.
