Mesa/Boogie Mark IV-any opinions? - Suggestions, opinions, e

I'm seriously conisdering getting a Mark IV head. *I've heard a lot of good things about them, but would love opinions/info from fellow Jemsiters. *Any hands-on experiences would be great to hear about. *Opinions on tone, versatility, etc would also be appreciated.

Thanks!
Chris

Mesa/Boogie Mark IV-any opinions?

i have had one for 7 years. though i dont care for the distortion as much as *a preamp, it really does sound great. the classic boogie tone and warmth. as far as options goes, this amp wins my award for options.
it would take me a better part of an hour to type them all in and what they do..
everything from switchable and non switchable loops to to slave (di) swictchable graphic eq, triode, pentode, simul class, class A harmocis and mid gain switch, mode select, exr switching jacks, silent record feature and thats just the stuff on the back of the amp...

hope this helps
I was actually trying to sell this to get a dual or trip rec but after hearing them, they are not what i am looking for. thought they're great. i do love my boogie and after having it so long, i know so much about it i dont really think i want to "get to know" a new amp right now. perhaps a Bogner ecstasy at the right $$ or a matchless

Mesa/Boogie Mark IV-any opinions?

Thanks for the info! *I'm actually looking into a Mark IV so that I don't have to lug my Matchless everywhere. *I get kinda leary of taking it to clubs, etc. *Plus, though it's got killer tone, the single channel is kind of limiting. *Sounds like the Mark IV would definitely clear up some floorspace for me-won't need quite as many pedals!

Thanks,
Chris
