Mesa Rect-o-verb or Mark IV

I found someone I can get any mesa product for 25 % under cost from...

I am wondering, does the trem-o-verb sound like a typical dual-rec and what do you need infront of it to make a creamy overdrive and not a sterol mesa tone?

I know that the Mark IV is a plethora of tones but I dont know if I want someone to complicated.

25% below cost, eh? Sounds like you've found a real moron if they're willing to sell you ANYTHING for 25% below cost

I haven't tried the trem-o-verb but the sound you seem to be looking for will jump out of that Mark IV first chanse it gets.

To set things straight about the Mark IV: they are NOT complicated! Think of them as three amps with sensitive tone knobs in one housing.

You've obviously never played a Rectifier if you need to ask that- the "vintage" gain mode is sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet.

While we're at it, if your friend can get me a deal on either a Recto-verb 50 or a Mark-IV, PM me.

Well depending on just how cheep the amps are I might buy both. Its below manufacture cost so im not sure just how cheep they will be. Anyone know? I could probably figure out what retail cost is but I have NO clue how much it cost to make them at the boogie factory. Could end up being insainly cheep.

and no he isnt a moron, just an endorsee, very popular and does lots of beta testing for Mesa and such... and Im marrying his niece.

and he is doing a show in alaska on the 31st... lets see if you guys can figure out who he is.

I think you mean 25% below RETAIL. It's not that hard to figure out.
25% below manufacturer cost would be 25% below what it costs Mesa to actually build the amps.

Anuj .... Im not realy at liberty to say exactly who but lets just say that you win the prize. ~ How have you been? Its been a while.

no I realy do mean below manufacture price. In essence Mesa does loose money off the amp its self, but obviously they think him playing thier stuff is worth more than the profit off of a few amps every year. I made sure to ask him and he said manufacture price. He has one of the BEST deals mesa has ever given anyone. Maybe because he is also a producer?

But Hmm... This thread has turned into some sort of gloating rights for me... which is nothing like I wanted it to be.. back to amps shall we?

It think if I had to choose I would grab the MK IV... They are cheeper as it is anyway arent they? Its hard to find prices for boogies online and here in Alaska the only place that sells them is an hour away.

Not bad... Their poppier stuff rubs me the wrong way a bit, but when they're on, Everclear rocks.

Seriously, if you can get a few heads this way, I'd love to grab a mark-IV long chassis head... I'm not sure what I could offer as a favor in return, but I'll try to work something out for you...
