Multi-FX + Recording

Well, I'm in a dorm room now, and since I can't exactly mic a cranked amp, I need a good multi-FX that I can plug into my PC to record with (similar to the GT-
I'm looking for something with good overdrive and amp modeling (difficult to find with digital gear, I know) Obviously, a collection of decent modulation effects is a must, but I'm far more interested in the quality of distortion. I don't play anything incredibly heavy (no metal), but I'm looking for a warm and fat tone. My budget is, in theory, unlimited, but let's try to keep it around $500-$600

Re: Multi-FX + Recording

I've got a Zoom G7.1ut and have found it to make some great sounds through an amp and for recording. My producer/recording engineer friend was particularly impressed when I came round and plugged it straight in to his desk for recording some guitar parts for his own album.

Re: Multi-FX + Recording

Get a GT-Pro from the bay. I've been using it plugged in straight into my laptop and using audacity to record with. Quality wise, it sounds pretty good (especially since audacity is free). As far as the GT-Pro is concerned, none of the other units mentioned above, with the exception of the GT 8, could even come close to the sound and limitless amount of connection options you have with the GT-Pro.

Re: Multi-FX + Recording

not to be a stinker, but if your budget is unlimited, get an Axe-FX and you will never need another piece of gear again.
