MXR M135 Smart Gate

Ok, we all know what it looks like, it's black. So why does mine that I just bought, look like this?

It's grey, with some different labelling, as you can see.

Re: MXR M135 Smart Gate

sorry bro... the only ones I've seen are black... maybe it's a new design MXR is doing. If nobody else on the board answers this I would call MXR/Dunlop and ask what the deal is with it and post whatever they say on here.

interesting, seems the same besides the color, they just flipped the switches and button around.

Re: MXR M135 Smart Gate

No, everything is the same way round, controls and switches are in the same place, just different colour and slightly different markings.

The circuit board inside still has Dunlop stamped into it (in the same way the circuit tracks are stamped)

I've emailed Jim Dunlop with a photo, look forward to hearing from them soon.

???

Mine's black. Maybe a color change is in the works for all of the black MXR pedals.

Re: MXR M135 Smart Gate

An email back from Jim Dunlop,

Anthony,

Sorry for the confusion. There was a color change and the site has not been updated, and it also was inbetween catalog printings. I think one day we just looked at the Smart Gate and thought it looked boring, so we made a quick decision to dress it up. Thatís one of the most underrated pedals in the MXR line, hope it works good for you.

Thanks,

Scott
