My next gear for Metal

Hi,

I'm going to buy this gear for playing Thrash Metal, what do you think about?

Head: ENGL Screamer 50 + 4-way footswitch (with plus button for 15% more volume) - 600€
Cabinet: Peavey 4x12 400W - 200€
Guitar: Ibanez RGR570IPT with Lo-Pro Edge, V7,S1 and DiMarzio SuperDistortion at the bridge (DP100) - 350€ with Hardcase

I'm going to play classical Thrash and Heavy Metal. What do you think about?

Hmm...
Head: I love mesa boogies.
Cab: Don't Peavey cabs come with scorpion speakers?I prefer celestions.
Guitar: Ibanez is not making any guitar I like.I'd go with ESP.

So buy what YOU want and not what strangers prefer.

Mesa are too much expansive for me, and I think ENGL Screamer 50 "really scream"
Guitar: Uhm? Really? D:
I've got an LTD too. It's a LTD M-400. It sounds good (EMG81 neck and bridge) but the tremolo system and the neck sucks… Floyd rose doesn't stay in tune and the neck are too fat for Thrash Metal

Re: My next gear for Metal

You can use any gear for playing "trash" metal LOL

If you don't know if it's good or not probably is because you have no experience.
Look what your favorites players use, your answer is there and not here with strangers with different tastes than yours

Re: My next gear for Metal

what you picked there is just fine. The screamers are nice. The 4x12 is not the best but will surely do. Guitar is a matter of taste, should have humbuckers.

Re: My next gear for Metal

Didn't companies make pedals specifically for thrash and death metal? Were they not aptly named? Years back, I had a "multi-effects and distortion" pedal made by ART. It was called Xtreme, or something like that, because its heaviest distortion was called extreme. That setting was perfect for thrash metal.

Cheap? I don't really remember. It was built well. The housing was metal. The big space below the knobs had writing on it that gave you what effects were in each each bank. I guess it was wiped off in this photo.

Sound? I remember it being pretty good. Like I said, the extreme setting for the distortion was great for thrash.
