New Amp Day

Couldn't wait for this, my usual guy couldnt get it so I had to pay sucker price but this HAD to be my amp. I had one of the original Marshall Slash amps and I wish I never sold it so when I heard about this I had to have it. I know it's based solely on THAT Appetite sound, but I'm sure it can do other Marshall sounds equally as well.

Im going to check it out now, just had to get pics up before the boss saw it

Re: New Amp Day

Dude, it KILLS. Not a high gain amp by any means but super crunchy. I think if it came down to it, the mark V would go.

Don't forget the tophat with buckles. Oh, and make sure you get a Bi-Polar Drug addict with cornrolls to be your singer.

Your in the Jungle now baby.

Re: New Amp Day

Nice--congrats on the new baby! What was your old "Slash" amp--a Silver Jubilee?

Very sweet, but looks like you're a Raiders fan with all that black and silver
Nice score.

Re: New Amp Day

Awesome. I really want one of these.

I was following the progress through the AFD100 youtube channel. It really does appear to rock extremely hard, and the attenuator makes it a really useful amp.

Re: New Amp Day

Great score. I've heard nothing but good stuff about these amps. Yet to hear it in person though... Very likely to be prized collectors items one day if you can hold on to it ;-)

The attenuator and the fact that it self biases and will accept almost any power amp tube were big selling points. The attenuator is great. I had a Hot Plate for my Plexi and I think it was the worst $200 I ever spent. I found it ruined the sound of the amp, this one just affects the volume though, not the tone.

Not a Silver Jubilee, a 2555SL, basically a Jubilee with some Slash graphics on the face plate. I still plan on buying one if I can afford it when I find one.

I'll be honest, the collectors aspect was what pushed me over the edge for buying it. I saw what the first Slash did after I sold mine, so feeling that I couldn't lose onthis one made it easier to buy when I shouldn't have spent the money

Re: New Amp Day

Took the amp to the rehearsal studio today to open it up. This is officially THE amp. No where near as versatile as the Mark V, but it does one thing and it does it well. Dimed the attenuator, set everything else to 6 and grabbed the SG. The Mesa may be back on the market sooner than I thought.
