New Boogie Lynyrd Skynyrd Combo

With a tip of my hat to the USA's finest rock band.............

This my tribute to Lynyrd Skynyrd

My band plays quite a few numbers so i thought it would be a fitting stage prop.......

I sent the pic to a few mates and they were asking how much and when were they being released - Simpletons!

Any other Skynyrd fans out there???????????

Most people over here would probably think it's a "Dukes of Hazzard" amp

But yeah.....i wouldn't risk taking it on certain legs of the American tour....

Man, that's awesome! I don't see what the big deal is with the Confederate flag.

Anyways, Skynyrd rules! That's a fitting tribute, I'd say.

Dukes of Hazzard - weren't they just some good ole boys, having some fun?

I remember watching it when i was eight and finding a tent in my pyjamas............ when Daisy Duke came on screen.........

Just a guess, but it's probably the whole pro-Slavery thing

Just because somebody has a Confederate flag, doesn't mean they're pro slavery.

By that logic, Ibanezking is a racist.

How is that even an expression!?

I can play the dirty, used sanitary towels out of my guitar.

Try moving down a few hundred miles and you'll see exactly what I mean.

Ole Miss (University of Miss.) had to ditch their mascot (Colonel Rebel) and the rebel flag as symbols of their school at football games, etc...all because a few people of a certain race felt "insulted"

Here in Memphis, if you played that amp, you're liable to have the amp and your life taken.

a) First point is irrelevant.

b) Second point is absolute rubbish.

It's the same as me wearing a KKK shirt. It doesn't make me a racist, but I am choosing to wear clothing that endorses a cause, and it's down to me to make sure it's not a cause that causes immediate and reasonable offence to people.

The Confederacy was formed mainly for one reason - to endorse the continuation of the slavery of negroes in the USA. The states that constituted the Confederacy seceeded from the rest of the USA after it became increasingly evident that moves were being made to free slaves. Although it was not staed as a motivation for the establishment of the Confederacy, it was the driving motive. This motive was further highlighted when Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation of 1863 declared all slaves in Confederate states to be free men.

The division was down to slavery, and the Confederate flag was an emblem for those supporting the cause.

In recent years, the Confederate flag may have become more an embodiment of 'the Southern way of life' - a basic living, unsupplemented by consumerism and other such modern vices, but at the end of the day, we should all be aware of where the falg came from before we fly it.

Apologies for any factual errors - my history's a little dodgy!!

EDIT: The states seceded BEFORE the EP - the EP actually specifically focussed on slaves in the seceeded states, and declared them free men.

That's completely false...There's a whole lot more to the Confederate Sates' secession than slavery...

I'm not going to go into a history lecture, but the issue of slavery was merely a part of the many reasons for the Civil War. You have to consider many other elements, such as attitudes towards America under the Articles of Confederation vs. the Constitution, tariffs that severely hurt the southern economy while favoring the north, the fact that southerners and northerners led very different lifestyles (plantations vs. big city environments), among may more...

Sure slavery might be the underlying cause, but it is false to say that it was the sole reason of the formation of the Confederacy.
