Nomad 100 Speaker question

I've noticed that mesa boogie put:

1x12 Wide Body Combo
• Celestion Custom 90 Speakers

in their 100w combos.

Why are they putting a 90W speaker in a 100w amp?

Because Mesa combos usually start oscillating before they're cranked to 10. :0) No wonder - the output tubes are in the speaker's sound field.
