Ok. Marshall 150h with 1960 cab

for 350$.... Is that a good deal? I think the damn cab itself is worth that much, no?

Broken amp, not loud enough amp, and need volume.... go for it?

Re: Ok. Marshall 150h with 1960 cab

I have an AVT 275, same circit board etc,
2x75W combo.

I like it, does a good solid rock tone, doesnt really scream.

needs a pedal if you want good distortion but I would probably say that about any amp.
Has 4 channels and lots of knobs so there must be some tones you like in there.

Price seems OK, I assume thats used and its in vgc.

Its good quality solid kit that does the job,
after you buy it you will probably want a JCM though...

Re: Ok. Marshall 150h with 1960 cab

So I went and grabbed it! It wasnt in the condition he stated, so I talked him down to 275 haha.

clean channel is suprisingly good! I like it! The OD channels are pretty much useless to me haha

edit: second opinion. After tweaking with it, the od1 channel is pretty sick. not a bad sound at all. od2 is crap still.

Re: Ok. Marshall 150h with 1960 cab

yeah, even if I want distortion I usually use the clean channel, with either a fuzz or a boost pedal.

You can get some good tones with OD1 but it depends a lot more on the pedals,
I find with some pedals it gets louder when you switch to OD1 and some it seems to get choked, I think there is some sort of compressor or noise gate built in.

I Like OD1 with fuzz, never really found a use for OD2 but I suppose Marshall had some idea, I just dont get it.

Anyway it does loud so its all good.
