Olive Oil,

Just thought Id share this ,..for my electric Guitar I like to spray finger ease or fast frett and use lemon oil on the fretts when restringing.
Lately I have run out of these things and the other night I thought I need finger ease as my strings were a little sticky,..so I went into the Kitchen and got the wifes Olive oil { that I love in her cooking} and poored it all the way along the neck, then wiped down with a cloth ,.,since then I have found olive oil great for my fretts the neck and the strings feel great, Im sold on the stuff,...

Cheers,.. T,..

Re: Olive Oil,

Doug Mark's guitar tech that he made a video with uses olive oil on fretboards... Also uses a formula of half WD-40 and Alcohol for the strings. I also use that on my strings and it increase life and playability. Makes them perfectly slick and playable.

Re: Olive Oil,

Best guitar lessons ever , though. Yep, I learned from those on cassettes, and later bought the same lessons on vhs.......I even have them now on dvd, in case my kids want to learn guitar. I feel that studying the Metal Method course, reinforced by me helping out, would be awesome. For less than $70, you can go from beginner to quite the guitarist, spend hours rewinding and truly learning in your own living room, and Doug rules when it comes to explaining theory. I used to stay home from school to study the theory lesson.....hours and hours into it, over and over until it clicked,,,,,and it serves me well to this day. Compare this course to $25 a pop for a local guitar teacher, who in my area, can barely play to begin with and rips kids off by showing them two chords in a half hour for $25. About $1000 later , these kids can sloppily play a top 40 song and their parents feel it is money well spent. What a joke. I can't say enough about Doug and Metal Method. Just the absolute best. So many imposters have tried to compete...........nothing is the same.

Re: Olive Oil,

His later ads in the 90s actually stated, " Don't hate me because I'm beautiful!". Bwaaaah haaaa haaaaa.
It was an answer to a mailed-in letter asking if he had hair extensions...lol.

Yeah, after listening/learning from Doug's cassettes--the first question I always had concerned his hair....
