Peavey TG Raxx

Hey everyone, I'm new to the forum here; been lurking for a number of years-some really interesting and informative reads on here!

I've recently come into acquisition of an old Peavey TG Raxx preamp. Anyone have any experience with this preamp? Info online is pretty minimal, but I was able to dig up the manual and get some halfway decent tones. It's currently being used as the preamp for my attempt at a genuine 80s rack until I can get my hands on an ADA MP1.

I know this is an older thread.....
I got one last yr while on vacation at a pawn shop for a steal. It's the ultra channel on the peavey rockmaster 3 channel preamp. Changing the tubes and disconnecting the diodes seems to be the thing to do on them, thought I haven't done those things yet. The only thing I hate about mine is it just wont do pinch harmonics.

Re: Peavey TG Raxx

Thanks for replying! I started getting into rack systems at the beginning of the year and set about making my own, with the TG Raxx kind of being the centerpiece. It's actually not bad for articulate, clear distortion, but since then I've upgraded to the relished ADA MP1. I have it going through a Midiverb II and MosValve 1160. It takes a while to dial in, but this baby really cooks.
