Pod into Legacy (efx return) - Sounds very tight and easy to

I have always liked the Pod (2.0) but it sounded bright and shrilly when cranked through a power amp. *I tried running it into the front of the Legacy but it didn't sound so GREAT. * Then I tried it into the return, still just ok. *Then I ran it throught a Rocktron Multivalve then ito the Legacy return. Now I'm happy. *I can use the multivalve to EQ the POD before it hits the power amp/Legacy. *We all know the Legacy has big semi smooth tone crancked, but at reasonable levels, it's a little tough to get all the smooth gain you want for lead playing. *
*I've also done this, run the DS-1 into the lead channel with Vai's settings. with a comp pedal. Didn't like it. *I did however like the DS-1 into the clean channel, and I used an overdrive pedal infront of that to get a little mors gain, because I had the DS-1 setr for "crunch". *That sounded good, also using the Multivalve as an EQ in the loop.

But I wanted somethin a little "tighter", more like Petrucci. *The POD so far gives me that. *

Oh, I put an Evolution in my VDY Jem, WAY BIG difference over the PAF (?). *And I just got my NEW PRS custom guitar with ChromeIllusion paint, Ebony fret board and Dragon 1's, coil tap 3 way. *Very sweet.
It cleans up better than all my other guitars when rolling the volume back on the Lead channel. *

Has anyone else had success with their POD?

Pod into Legacy (efx return)

I've been doing a lot of direct-recording with my POD lately. *Now matter how much I tweak the knobs, i was still very unhappy with its sound. *But after using the graphic eq on my Cakewalk, the sound improved dramatically and I was happy

When I get a real amp, maybe I'll do the same thing you did. *It sounds like a cool idea.
