Preamp out?

Ok, I was playing, and there was a sudden pop in the lights in my room...and now, my friggin preamp appears to be out! The power amp tubes are still glowing and getting power, but now there's a definate though faint smell, and the preamp amp tubes apparently arent getting any signal or arent firing up or somethint. The only light on the front that's on is the power light. All the channel lights are out, as well as the mode switches/signal lights. I have a speed twin custom shop head. (pre gibson) What the f*** is going on?!

That's exactly why I run all my stuff through a Furman power conditioner. I guess a sudden jump in voltage fried the switching circuits. No way to tell for sure without seeing the guts of your amp, and poking around with a multimeter. I doubt that tubes are fried (though one can't exclude that as possibility), it is, most likely, something in switching circuits. They're solid state.

Turns out it's just a blown cap on the driver preamp tube. That's all. No biggie. I was worried, but now its all good.
