Probably a stupid question on Amps

Ok I know this is probably a really stupid question but I don't know much about the electrical side of music, just how to play lol.

I was wondering how I hook up multiple speakers/amps to the guitar. At the moment I have just an amplifier, but how do I (or what do I need to enable me to) hook up lots of speakers to create a louder sound, for an arena for example? What sorta stuff do I need?

To hook up additional speakers to an amp, it helps if the amp has an extension speaker jack. Otherwise, you're going to run into problems with ohmage, etc.

This is confusing beyond all reason. The send and return are your effects loop. And the input is the input. None of these apply to speakers.
