Race's NAD!!!

My Splawn QuickRod arrived today and holy moley!! First of all, packaged better than any new amp I've ever purchased.

The sounds that come out of this amp are nothing short of pure tonal bliss. The controls are EXTREMELY sensitive and responsive. I'll get an official review up ASAP!!

Cheers,

Race

Jeez Race, how many amps does that make it now? Is there room to walk around in your house?

jks

Congratulations, those Splawns do look and sound sweet.

Re: Race's NAD!!!

Let's see... this makes 1, TOO MANY!!

That's why I have a Marshall DSL100MLB, Hughes & Kettner Switchblade, and Peavey Windsor all up for sale right now. Gotta rotate the crops.

In reality, I'm REALLY trying to parse down to a couple amps (4?) with a custom switching rig that I'm building. Right now it looks like the winning (production) lineup will be:

Splawn QuickRod
Diezel VH4
Marshall Vintage Modern
"Secret Sauce" Rig

If everything works well I'll have a Hughes & Kettner TriAmp MK II, Marshall JVM410H, and possibly a Hughes & Kettner Trilogy up for sale/trade as well. (I may have to keep the Trilogy). Will also keep the sweet combos... Mesa Mark V, Marshall 1974X, Class 5, etc.

I'm going to be doing a couple of video reviews that should be up by the end of the weekend if all goes to plan. At minimum I'm trying to do:

Review of Marshall HAZE 40 with A/B comparison to Marshall DSL401.
Review of Morley ABY MIX pedal.

Others, if I can fit them in will be:

Diezel VH4
Splawn QuickRod

Ambitious? Brutus said he was ambitious, and Brutus is an honorable man...

8-P

Cheers,

Race

Sweet sauce!!! I've always wondered how the Quickrod stacked up. I've also been looking at Wizard amps too since the Marshall flavor has been hitting me strong lately.

Re: Race's NAD!!!

Well, hopefully my new ZOOM Q3 will capture the sounds well enough that you can make a well-informed decision... then go splurge on one anyway!!!

Cheers,

Re: Race's NAD!!!

Excellent buy! I've got an old 3-pre quickrod - and the thing is unbelievable. I just wish I could play it louder . . .

Re: Race's NAD!!!

Added a Jet City JCA100H to the mix--will be doing a review of that one soon as well.

Cheers,
