Re: Rack stuff! Digitech 2101, 1101, korg A3/2 or something else entirely!!!
i've had a 2101 for 15 years. i primarily use it for direct recording, and in that application, i have yet to find anything that can emulate tube tone as well as it can. as for your questions:
1. it definitely has a learning curve regarding the programming, but you should be able to get the hang of it after a week or so. most of the effects are quite a bit better than the ones on the 1101 (especially the reverbs).
2. have no idea, unfamiliar with that tune?
3. it will definitely affect your tone. i tried running it through the effects loop of my marshall vintage modern and vice versa and it sounded like crap. that is definitely something the 1101, eleven and axe fx have over it.
4. no, doesn't give you that option, at least not on the 2101. maybe on the 2112/2120 as the interface changed for these upgrades
1.if you plan on using it with your amp, then the 1101 wins hands down over the 2101. the 2101 was designed to be your preamp, not to be the effects unit for your amp. however, if you want to use multiple effects at once, you may find the 1101 limiting. also, the quality of these effects is just not at the level of the g major.
