Post Recording with a DIY Isolation Box (+how to build it) video

check it out:
YouTube - Recording guitars with a DIY Isolation Cabinet (+ how to build one)

This is me explaning how to build and how to record with an isolation box.
I built it in fall 2007 and recorded quite some songs with it.

Here are some songs that I recorded with the isolation box. Click those if you want the hear how it sounds within a full production context.

E.g. this one: Adagio for strings (with clean & mellow sounds):
YouTube - Adagio For Strings - "Bridge of Sighs"-style (abridged)

Purple Organ (70s style rock song)
YouTube - Georg F - Purple Organ

Riverdance theme (beginning is with clean sounds, later on there is a fully cranked, Plexi-Esque Amp lead sound)
YouTube - Riverdance Theme on guitar
etc.

enjoy

cool idea. I may build one of these using mineral wool instead of foam. It controls a lot more of the low end inside of the box.

Looks great as is though.

WOW?!
For a box?
I made my first one in 1998 to put my 1x12 mesa boogie cab.
Then when I started my studio I made a bigger(really bigger) one to put my marshall 1960b 4x12 cab but with concrete bricks. You just glue concrete bricks with concrete and before adding a new floor you fill them up with concrete too.
Pretty solid and even with amps on 10 I almost could hear no sound, only some bass vibrations.
But if you have a small place, a 1x12 cab is more than enough for recording purposes.
And there are some techniques to emulate ambience(if you want/need it).
It's just a box

this is a great idea. I'll probably also be cheaper than getting acoustic foam.
