Servicing effects pedals

I own an korg toneworks ax1000g. It stopped coming on last night and im pretty screwed at this point. ITs not very expensive around 300 dollars (you can buy the 1500 g now). But the pedal has all these presets on it and ive used it forever. Im thinking its the power input which is shorting out but i dont know what to do about getting it fixed. Has anyone ever had to have effects pedals sent back to the manufacturer? How can i go about contacting korg? Im at work and havent gotten a chance to check out their webpage yet. Any advice would be greatly appreciated

I would check and see if your power supply is working, if not, you can buy a replacement rather inexpensively. Per Korgs site it is: AC adapter (9 volt, 300ma, Center Pin Negative) so you can find one at your local Wal-mart or Radio shack.

If not the power pack, how old is the unit?
Korg I think only has a 90 day warrantee on certain items, make sure yours is eligble for warrantee repair.

good luck.

The first thing i thought it was it was the power supply so i went out and bought a new one. Turns out the thing was actually shorting out, the korg input itself. NOw it wont come on. I took it apart and it just worked. Last night i took it apart and couldnt see where it was shorting out. Im thinking i could fix it i can use a soldering iron at least, but im not sure where to get the part needed, as well as i really want the thing fixed. ITs far past warranty years ago. What i really need to do now is liquidate some of my guitar collection and buy a nice high gain tube amp and a delay, volume, and wah pedal, but im looking at around 3000 grande there to get the sound im after. This is really frustrating. For the time being ive got a line6 guitar port to practice on, but i wont be able to play out anywhere.
