Should I get reverb or chorus?

I like simple setup. Currently use a wah into one of my homebrew hi-gain preamps (soldano based and mesa mark based) into MXR graphic EQ, Boss DD-20 and finally palmer pdi-09 speaker sim/di-box. That goes directly to portable recorder and headphones.
Looking to get a pedal that will add some "space" to my sound. Playing though headphones is not the same as a decent loud cabinet. Not looking for some heavy effects, but just to add some air to what I already have.

Was thinking to get a reverb pedal to add some room reverb or a chorus to add some subtle chorusy complexity to the sound. Which one would you recommend?
I play mostly dream theater stuff and some Satch and Vai.

Thanks

Re: Should I get reverb or chorus?

For myself, I tend to use delay just about all the time whereas I only use chorus occasionally, so I'd probably go the reverb/delay route.

Chorus and Distortion at the same time, always makes sound like Steve Lukather from the 80's :P

Re: Should I get reverb or chorus?

I play a bit of Theater & highly suggest reverb, but that's just me as I play allot of neo-classical & am used to it/love it. None the less I am right, so get one! I highly suggest a Boss RV-3!

Def, get a reverb.
For my taste, the best reverb are the "spring reverbs" but you can get very good ones from the Electro-Harmonix Holy Grail, It has a spring type of reverb and you can hear it on youtube.
