singer needs PA stuff

Singer needs cost effective (read : "Cheap") power. Quality isnt much of a concern right now, he just needs to be heard. If anyone has suggestions, lemme know

playing small bar scene gigs.

Don't cheap out, its actually less cost efficient to buy crap gear, cause you'll just trash it in no time. Have him get something he can expand on later, but still use.

Its mostly for practice. The place we're gonna play at usually have a PA system of their own already. Ideally, yes he wants to get a top of the line super duper system, but he doesnt make that much money.

Thanks gents! I'll look around

We'll go pawn shopping soon I guess.

Re: singer needs PA stuff

Woah, thats not much at all, you won't even be able to get a single component for that (well, you can get a 58 and a couple cables).

There are really no options at that price point. He may be able to get a used and cheap mixer, or one cheap used powered monitor, but nothing that constitutes a PA. About the cheapest you can get some Berry garbage to make sound over the drummer would be $600, and it'll only last a year. I have no ideas for $200 that will work.

Oh, not a full blown PA system dude ;p just an amp for his vox. Perhaps I phrased incorrectly. Just needs a powered speaker to be heard above the drummer

Re: singer needs PA stuff

$200? Screw it. Buy a cheap-ass mic, and sing through a small guitar amp.

We've all been there.

So true! Get a good used amp, maybe one with a speaker out, and buy another cheap cab and mic. If it's just for practice, 50 watts would be fine.
