Sponsorship

How do you go about getting sponsored by an amp or pickup company?

Matt Olson, an local musician acquaintence of mine & guitarist for Rearview Mirror, was endorsed by (I think) Morley & Mesa Boogie.

However having the guy who recorded Dave Mathews & U2 do his CD didn't hurt...at least in his case.

Being signed, having a CD, a press-pack, and showing that you have some exposure usually helps. But I guess there are exceptions...

He's an exception that reinforces the rule.

Really?
I'm pretty sure(but not 100% sure) he at least had a deal for free tubes or something. But I may have been misinformed.
Morley I know he 100% was endorsed by.

Not even an endorsement for Mark Tremonti?
Rough crowd....

Doesn't Mesa do endorsements by loaning artists gear? Not actually selling it to them, but letting them use it for a tour or something? I thought I recalled something like this...

I too heard that Mesa don't do endorsements...John Petrucci has done wonders for them by using them for years and appearing in ads etc but he still has to pay for them He probably gets a massive discount though lol

You usually need a CD, a resume, and most of the time, a record deal. They really want to know that you are going to be giving their product exposure.

There are different levels of endorsment. Not all of them include free gear. Alot of times you might just get a discount, or they will give you VIP service.

having exposure helps, ad a CD etc.

Endorsements are on different levels according to exposure etc, but one of the good things about endorsements is the service, back up gear, being able to oloan amps for tours in far away places and repairs. Also artist prices as well, cheap gear which is always a good one
