sustainers again

Since I know nearly nothing about sustainers...I was hoping for some technical guidance. I know everyone says sustainiacs are the best. But stealth or stealth plus? Also, what pickups go the best with them? I have my trusty old RG 550 that I'm planning to put one in. It currently has a Tone Zone stuck in the bridge that I love, but is that the best pickup to have with a sustainer? Steve of course uses an Evo with it, I'm rather tired of Evos but I have a hot new Evo 2 that I could stick in there. I have a PAF Pro and an original Evo I could stick in it if it would work better. I have two guitars, I want one to be my pretty singing, vocal one and one to be my dirty rocking one. I have my RG and my new FP, of the two...I'd prefer my FP to be my pretty girlfriend and my RG to be my hot mistress...if that makes any sense, lol. But if Evos work better than TZ's with a sustainer, I'd be willing to stick the TZ in the FP and the Evo 2 in the RG. Regardless, I want the RG to have the sustainer. Whaddya think?

Re: sustainers again

Sustainiac. Good call. I use a sustaniac stealth plus with a Breed at the bridge. The breed is kinda close to a TZ and it sounds good. The new stealth plus has a more powerful pickup system that matches high output pups better. And it has a seperate volume pot in the computer that allows you to adjust the volume to match the bridge pup and is hum cancelling. I also have a twin guitar with breeds in both spots and it sounds better than the sustainer guitar. If you want to go with the stealth then i reccomend a pro tracks pup to marry to it. It has a nice PAF pro sound and does very well. But overall the plus sounds pretty decent and yeah the TZ is a good choice. I think you won't be dissapointed. Sadly it is nearly impossible to find a sustainiac equipped guitar to test play. Hope this helps. Joshua

Re: sustainers again

Sustainiac kits start at 200 bucks...check out their website (sustainiac.com) I'm not sure i would put one on a JS only because they take up the neck pickup and even though you can put a mini-humbucker to take up a coil, i wouldn't want to sacrifice that. A Jem or any three pickup guitar would be a better choice IMO because you can still get a reasonable amount of pickup choices (three diff pups if you use a minibucker)
