Hi guys!!

I thought we'd do a less controversial topic this time around...

I'd like to hear about your favorite rig setup

ie:

What guitar you use, amps, effects..in what order do you like up your effects/pedals...

I think we can learn from each other on this one!!!

Steinberger GM4T Black
Steinberger GM4T White
Steinberger GM4T White (contoured body)
Steinberger GL4TA Black
Steinberger GL4TA Black
Steinberger GL4TA Elite White
Klein GK4T
Thats what I like to see

My setup that I play regularly is an RG550 with EMG 85/S/81 combo into an Ibanez WH-10 into a Marshall DSL 401. I have a Kramer Pacer but I havn't finished working on it yet  my first guitar is in peices with a fully scalloped board. My 'kit guitar' has a fully contoured body but doesn't have a neck or finish yet. I am also making an amp when the parts get here  Acoustic wise I use nylon stringed guitars and mine is a Rodreguez model B with spruce top. I have a american Jazz bass and marshall bass amp but I am thinking of selling those to get a steinberger!!

Freak

At the moment:

ESP/LTD Eclipse EC-1000 into Marshall TSL602.

Basic, primal, loud, and mean.

In two-four weeks, depending on the particulars:

Same guitar, possibly also an EBMM Petrucci into:

Dunlop 535Q Crybaby Wah

Ernie Ball Volume Pedal (set up to control overall volume, not gain)

TC Electronics G-Major
Furman PL-8 Power Conditioner
Digital Music Corporation Ground Control MIDI Controller

ALL into:

Mesa/Boogie Nomad 45 2X12 combo. I spent an hour in front of one of these puppies this weekend, and that was ALL the time I needed to be totally sold.

My gosh, where does everyone get all the money for this stuff? My "rig", if that's what you'd like to call it, is really simple.
Guitars:
Schecter C-1+ black cherry
(someday) JEM7VWH
Pedals:
Only a dunlop Crybaby Classic (should really get me a Bad Horsie)
Oh, and the contol switches for my amp
Amp:
Fender Princeton Chorus

Maybe soon I'll get a JSX or 5150 amp, but that's all I really need, what's the reason for all of the rack gear and stuff (besides high-end delays, flangers, etc.)? The tone you search for is all in your EQ and your playing style.

Though SOME of an individual's tone does undoubtedly come from the fingers and technique, there is no arguing that the amp setup and other equipment used has a great deal to do with the end product. You ask why all the rack gear and multiple amps, etc. I say, why not? I've never heard of versatility being a bad thing.

If I'm an artist, I'm certainly going to want more colors to work with than black and white. ;)

I'm not a rich fellow, so I don't have loads of gear :( .

Gitboxes:

Custom Hardtail Strat HSS, flame birch top, Duncan & Fender pups
Charvel CMX-Dlx floyd strat, now burnt and w/SSS pup config (Duncan)
Homegrown Strat, w/Duncan pups
...and a mongrel, totally beaten-up strat still in the process of making...

Gizmos:

Snarling Dogs Super Bawl Whine-O Wah
EHX Frequency Analyzer ring modulator, w/TB mod
Line6 Delay Modeler
(plus an oddball Danelectro Tuna Melt tremolo which's not in regular use)

Amps:

'94 Rivera Hundred Duo Twelve
( + a custom 1-watt tube amp head + a VHT 1x12 cab for practicing at home)

All cables George L's and DiMarzios.

The tone? Smokin'!!!

Update:

Jem7VWH through Roland Cube 30 no more. Now playing through Mesa Boogie Rect-O-Verb 50 head (it's the newer version with three overdrive modes) and a 2x12 recto cab.

My wife calls it the "MEGA BOOGIE" 8)

Anyone who cannot get a good sound out of this amp needs to review the on-line manual and the correct usage of the presence knob :!:

I've got (2) Pedalboards.

Rack Pedalboard: http://members.aol.com/vaijem777/pedalboard.jpg
-Ground Control Pro
-Keeley Ibanez Turbo Tube Screamer (the Keeley-DS1 is in the back of the rack)
-Copper Dunlop Crybaby 535

I've also got roughly 30-40 various pedals (The Ibanez 808 & 9 series plus a bunch of odds n' ends).

Guitars are ever-changing. I've actually sold a LOT of what I had in favor of getting a decent amp collection going. I've pretty much settled on my Rick Turner Model 1 and my Relic Strat for the most part so everything else is just for fun. I did just pick up a sweet RG2027X-VV though ;)

Oh yeah.. The place where my band jams is really dusty apparently, as evidenced by all the dust stuck in the mesh on my cabinet where the speakers are. Anyone know how to get rid of that?? The thing's a year and a half old, and it looks like I've had it for 50 years... 8O
