Tonerider pups are pretty damn good :D

So I got some Tonerider Rocksong Alnico 2 pups for a Chibson Les Paul a while back... $50AU, way under half the price of Dimazios or SD's.. bargain right??

They'er a little to dark for my liking stock.. The bridge was ****ed for this guitar.. it sounded WAY to dark for me as a hard rock/metal/gain player so i did a couple of magnet swaps, which are easy as with these pups, no dramas there.. A distortion C8 mag was way to much gain, but a alnico 8 was just magic..my other drop C tune guitar, A dean that has a Dimazio Breed in the Bridge... the Alnico 8 rocksong just kills it, clarity, more gain but gain with that nuance to how u play and detail.. the winds are good...

The neck Rocksong.. I pulled it apart and put a alnico 4 in.. but it wasnt as good, im kinda at loss to if i can impove this.. the pup is killer, just set your guitar volume knobs at 66%.. and its gold...

anyway .. these be good pups, coast is only like $50AU. $30US, 25Euro. Hell i pull my Dimarzios and SD's apart coz im not happy with em out of the box, these are half the price, and end up sounding .. well I couldnt say better goz my moded Evos and moded Tone zones well they sound good to.. but these be on par for sure.. . nuff said..

I think i have Tonerider single coil set in my Squier Stratocaster 50'classic vibe. People at Fender forum usually have very good opinion about them.

Hi, I have 3 Tonerider pups 2x Rocksong neck and 1x Generator pickups. The Rocksongs are truly great pickups, they stand up well under lots of gain when soloing and just have that classic Les Paul neck sound. They're by far my favourite neck pickup that I have used. The Generator is pretty tasty too although I haven't used it for a while and I can't remember what it sounds like. If I remember correctly it's like an SD JB bridge pickup. It's quite a high output number.
