USB/MIDI converter?

Can anyone recommend me a USB to MIDI converter? Gotta be cheap! I'll need it to control a V-AMP Pro from my PC. Thanks a lot for any help.

Re: USB/MIDI converter?

M-Audio Midisport 2x2 works for me (I've used it with drum machines, synths, and drum input devices, but not with a v-amp -- I don't see why it wouldn't work though.). Not sure if it's cheap enough, US$70, roughly, I think.

That sounds OK, thanks man, I'll look into it. M-Audio products are nice.

Re: USB/MIDI converter?

One thing I should mention, the midisport 2x2 has no on board ROM, so it gets its firmware from your computer each time you plug it in to the USB port. If you're using Windows (or Mac, I guess), this is no problem, as it comes with software to do this. Linux is a little trickier, but doable.
