Vintage coolness and tube amp question.

I picked up an old tube head the other day. It's a "The Cobra Mark 2" head made by a company called "Lifco" out or Montreal Canada. The amp has two 6v6's and two 12ax7's. It needs output tubes, the bass and treble pots need cleaning and probably replacing but as it is it sounds prety cool.
I already had the old Beltone 2x12 cab.

My question is how can I tell how many ohms the amp wants for cabinet hookup? There is absolutely nothing written on the back. Just one 1/4" output jack.

Re: Vintage coolness and tube amp question.

As far as I can recall (this is really long since I had one of those, so NO GUARANTEE!!!!!!):

I think this is a handwired copy of a Fender Tube Head of that time. Which is not a bad thing at all, I recall it sounded excellent for that kind of music.
About cab: I think I played an 8 Ohms cab on that one, so usually you can play a 16 Ohms too.

Check out google though, you may find the manual somewhere...

Re: Vintage coolness and tube amp question.

Not much info on Google. Prety much just some HC reviews and a few photos of other Lifco models.

Here are a couple of photos of the inside. Not much to it.

Re: Vintage coolness and tube amp question.

Hi,

I just got the same amp (The Cobra 2) last week but it's not in great condition
Do you have the schematics for it ?
Or at least good pictures of the inside ?
I think mine have been modified along the way ...
