Re: What amp/amps have you got?

the madison is my other guitarists (but it stays here and hell, i won't charge him rent for it ) it's a killer amp, and for the price it's a steal. channel 1 is glassy uber clean. not as fat sounding as the nomad but would be ideal for effects. could not really get a bluesy grit sort of sound but i wasn't really expecting it. channels two and three have some of the best high gain sounds around. although since it runs on the basic 4 ecc83 and 4 EL34s it has a really "super modded marshall" sound to them. but channel 2 can easily deliver as much thump as any recto/soldano/5150.

the nomad is a special amp... as you may hear from the nomad owners on here. it can go pretty much anywhere you want to go in the land of tone but do it with refinement. where as the divinity's and soldanos distortion is a full onslaught of gain where as the nomad delivers just what you need (if your fingers allow) the nomad is smooth but full.

Re: What amp/amps have you got?

with that 5ohm, you could simply go into a higher ohmage ie. 8ohms couldn't you? i mean whether it's 5, 4, or 2, it'll be ok into it's equal or higher , just never go into anything lower than the output ohmage

yea you could... they made special cabs to go with them but you can use the jack on the right as well

I would love to try those combos. The Studio 15 is definitely a nice little bastard!

Marshall Major: 200watt through KT88s.... sounds scary LOL
Hey if you're ever up in mASSachusetts, let me know!

Actually the Major isn't all that loud because of preamp gain. The SL-X will go louder if I crank up the preamp gain, but with the preamp gain set to clean the Major will be louder. I only play it on 2 if I want a clean tone - I put it on 2 and it is already the warmest clean tone I had ever heard!
