why do you NEED to buy a Marshall Halfstack? Marshalls and Halfstacks are like the two most overrated things.

Screw Laney, get an older Marshall (pre JCM2000) or a Soldano or something

Man, I don't really NEED a Marshall, I'm going for an Ibanez half-stack or the marhsall, I don't care if its OVERRATED, which I don't think applies to musical gear, are you saying Ibanez is OVERRATED cause everyone has one?

HAHAHAHHAHAHAHA.

An ibanez half stack? I laugh at you.

Jk, but dont get one, Ibanez makes **** for amps.

Get a full tube amp, like a Laney, ENGL, or something.

Re: What Amp is this, and what is the value?

actually ive seen some people pull some decent tones out of those 100w heads, and lst i saw one go for $250 its not a bad deal at all. and ibanez IS making a full tube amp now. so go check it out. and im not sure how half stacks can be overrated, sure you can get plenty of jobs done with a 2x12. but if you need more volume more speakers too push is a good start.

How dare you screw Laney!

Older Marshalls are okay I guess, but Soldano really kicks ass! But such tone comes at a hefty price, I'm afraid.

Re: What Amp is this, and what is the value?

i think marshall is overrated personally and i think something can be overrated in the guitar world.

What it comes down to is the fact that if you like it and it works get it, wether it IS a marshall or ibanez or whatever, screw brand names go by the sound of the product. I know i have poked fun at marshalls before but if everyone would just tried and played whatever the hell they wanted to things would be a lot better. Dont be afraid to venture off and play a randall if you are a marshall guy, or if you love laney dont be afraid to go plug into a mesa boogie. Play anything and everything, then you can say i want that or this.

Thats the trick you just have to play everything, which is usually a hell of alot easier said then done.
