i have used a recto and it sounds pretty brilliant, specially for 7 stringers. I have heard some clips of mesa mark 4 and IMO it has a pretty creamy sound and sounded pretty responsive to picking.
I cannot afford both so I am getting a triaxis instead.
cheers !

they both are great amps for heavy music. I'd sugest u get a triaxis so that u can enjoy both amps.

i played the road king which has the same feel and sound of the dual and loved it .
It was sort of gritty at first but i dailed in some excellent tone in a short time after figuring out all the freaking switches and channles. It sounded like heaven though, i had a js 1000bp that i was playing . Loved the hell out of both

Sure can, you dont really need to do that , just unplug the speaker from the speaker jack and plug it into the 4x12 instead.

Thumbs up Re: what do jemsite think of Mesa Dual Rec?

IMHO, mesa dual rectifiers are the best amps out there. I've played through a couple of Bogner Ecstacys,(sp), alot of marshalls, a carvin legacy, many fender amps, all with an open mind. The mesa dual rectifier kicks all of their asses. Not saying those are bad amps, because they're all actually really nice, but for a modern all around good rock amp, Mesa is the King!!

Re: what do jemsite think of Mesa Dual Rec?

mark IVs are great amps... very tight sounding. old school gain, think master of puppets, the lead channel is based off the mark II C+, more gain and more modern sounding
