What WAHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Which Wah pedal is worth the beans?

I play lots of stuff, mostly Classic Rock, Early Vai 80's rock stuff. Skidd row and the like. Im looking to get a Wah pedal but there's so much choice.

I have my eyes on the Ibanez Weeping Demon. Apparently the most flexible wah around?
The Vox Clyde McCoy wah. I've read its one of the best wah's but I haven't a clue to be honest.

Im just asking for advice on ones to avoid or if there is a certain wah pedal that stands out and I have to try.

Re: What WAHHHHHHHHHHHHH

RMC Wahs are amazing, I have the Wizard. Theyre not exactly the most versatile, but they have the best 'wah' sound and response to my ears.

Most people here will probably tell you the 535q for versatility, or the DB-01 Crybaby from hell, since they have a great deal of tweakable options.

I've also heard good things about the Area 51 wah, but I haven't tried one. You can get them custom built with a bunch of adjustable features.

Re: What WAHHHHHHHHHHHHH

I'm using a Digitech ex-7 right now, the Crybaby and Vox Clyde models are nice and the extra models kill.

The Boss V-Wah is quite versatile as well.

Wah models of Cry Baby, Vox, Morley and a dynamic Boss original
Wah with OD, Distortion or Fuzz added
Uni Vibe
Vocal Wah

Ibanez Weeping Demon. Fully configurable in both wah range and foot pedal setup (i.e. footswitch activation or standard pedal type on/off). Best wah I've used.

Re: What WAHHHHHHHHHHHHH

mod a crybaby with a quick vocal mod resistor change and true bypass and you have the best sounding value for money wah in my opinion..

and i wouldn't touch anything non true bypass personally.

also heard great things about RMC..

Re: What WAHHHHHHHHHHHHH

I'll check RMC's out. I'm not looking to spend too much, about $150 max unless theres something in the shops that really stands out. I would prefer spending alot less, around $100 or so.

i'd agree as that is what i have done. swap a few resisters out, convert to true-bypass or add a buffer and maybe change the sweep cap. all cheap and easy to do. otherwise fulltone clyde.

I got the weeping demon also and its by far the most amazing wah pedal ive owned which includes dunlop, morely, and digitech. Its got heaps of features that you dont see on other wah pedals and ibanez's tone lock dial, which locks the dials in place.

If you buy it you wont regret it !!!

I'm sure other brands have great features also and usually hard to go wrong with well known brands, but the weeping demon is a cool pedal IMHO !!!

Re: What WAHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Well, i really love the VOX tone and feel.
But playing live, i can play for HOURS with the switch ON (being it a bad thing, on the wrong position) and so, i forget to switch it off, ruining my performance!!! LOL
What i'm trying to say is i really FORGET to turn off the wah, or i need to 'stomp' it twice or more. A REAL MESS!!!!
When i think its turned off, it's running. Or the oposite!!!

Morley Bad Horsie is my choice since then.
(sorry the crazy english')

Re: What WAHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Weeping Demon +1. Extremely versatile, on/off modes (switch or pedal), lockable settings.

I'm not altogether up on other pedals, but I've got no complaints about the Ibanez, mainly on account of price and versatility.

Re: What WAHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Ibanez Weeping Deamon!

Best Bang for the Buck, top versatility (the Boss can do a lil more, but costs a lot more) and it is the most durable Wah I ever had, it can prolly take a direct nuke hit.
