hi everyone,
just wondering what good bedroom amps are there?
im looking for a small tube amp but i will still consider ss amps if they sound as good, i dont have a budget so i'll get anything
i play stuff anything from satriani, vai, dream theater, chilli peppers to metallica, incubus, mudvayne, basically most rock/heavymetal
Not the XXX. Lol. If you want bedroom volume, try the 15 watt Randall RM20B. You have an all tube power and pre and you can have whatever preamp you want in it. May I suggest Ultra Lead?
If you dont have a budget and want variety, this is for you. But I see you like Mudvayne and their guitarist uses one of these only in the head version. He uses one clean and two XTC models. So if you want that Mudvayne sound, get the XTC pre.

Hey how about a Marshall MG15 MS11. I know it's not a tube amp however I bought one as a practice amp and they are really great. I was very suprised with the sound that you can get out of it, and I don't waste 'tube' time on my other amps while I am working on my chops.
I personally love my Line 6 Spider II 112 for the bedroom. For a SS amp (and for the price) it has great tone and a great diversity of tones. Plus, I can be loud or quiet with it and it sounds good either way.
I have a Fender G-DEC and a Vetta II head with Avatar 2x12 cab as bedroom amps. The G-DEC is great for practicing timing and jamming with, but doesn't have great distortion sounds. The less expensive line6 stuff (like the Spider) has pretty good distortion sounds for solid state.
Marshall AVT20. Excellent value, Excellent tone. I have the AVT50, it's my only amp that I use for gigs, recording, rehearsing with the band, but it's slightly too loud for use at home, which is a shame since it's great. So I'd recommend the AVT20.
Is she valve or solid state??!!
Go too hard and you'd snap the skinny cow
Just think, with her wealth how many jem's she could buy us all though!!!
second on the blues junior, the knobs on those little suckers have so much range its silly - a ds-1 or metal zone sounds incredible thru one of these too

Seriously, no budget? Cornford Carrera/Harlequin in that case.
