line 6 riffworks. just go to youtube and search line 6 guitarport rifftracker to see how easy it is. on top of that if you want to get complicated later on you can inport tracks from harder to use programs and it sounds great too and has good instant drums.
there is a hack for the mp3 thing just search for putting mp3 into riffworks.

...and support your brothers. If you're gonna use it pony up the $60 for the personal license. That way we keep getting fixes and upgrades! REAPER is great software--I usually do scratch tracks in REAPER then export them for more complex work and finishing in either SONAR Producer or Mackie.

Cheers,

Race

Re: whats the simplest recording software

I couldnt get on with any of abletons products, im quite happy with reaper though, very user friendly.

Ive also been playing with Adobes `audition` which is quite similar.

Re: whats the simplest recording software

you want easy... use sound recorder on windows lol... i think ableton is fairly simple and easy to use, plus you can do wonders to guitars with its effects. plus its great for live use as well

Definitely, but I would suggest taking the little extra time to learn reaper as it uses non-destructive editing. Audacity definitely takes the cake in the user-friendly dept. though.
