where can i get carpet for rack case?

I'm gonna build a rack case and would like to clothe it with some nice black carpet that you find on standard carpeted cases.

does anyone know where i can get this material for cheap??

Oh and what is the best way to "join" the four pieces of boards to form the case.....what is the strongest "joint" that will withstand road use and abuse....i plan to use plywood.

I've never done this before, but i'd like to try it.............any advice would help.

I expect that carpet stuff will just be super high usage carpet for like shop floors and stuff. Just go into your local carpet shop and see what they have As for the joints from what I have seen the edging that covers all the corners (like a long metal strip) is actually the joint. The 2 pieces of wood slot into the edging then get rivited into place.

-better shred than dead-ANDY

There's a wholesaler in Illinois by the name of "Advantage Wholesale." You should be able to find a dealer in Michigan that has heard of them or regularly buys from them. They usually have a good supply of the stuff that is less like carpet, and more like woven fabric. Anything with a carpet backing is a pain, and not what the "real" companies are using. As for the joint I can't say unless I saw the design. My big rack is basically a 2x4 frame with 1/8" ply just for covering. The frame is self sufficient. Since rack gear comes in from the ears, you might run a 2x4 or 2x2 up in each corner and glue-n-screw without having to dovetail it. The gear on top and bottom shouldn't hit the corner blocks.
