Why do the trem bars only come in Black?

I haven't been into Ibanez for a long time (only a little less than a year), so I could be wrong...

Why do the trem bars only come in black? I would love to have a chrome or gold one, or better yet, a metalic colored one! Am I wrong? If not, is there anywhere that offers colored Ibanez/Ibanez Compatible arms? Even with a trem of not the same color, having a non-black bar could look so flash!! And then you could collect them and have a different trem bar for different shows, or moods, or stuff like that.....instead of throwing my pick into the crowd, i could throw a cool looking trem bar!!!...

Thanks A Ton!

throwing trem bars at the audience? well, not saying that isn't cool, but those things are a bit heavier than a pick and people could get upset if they get pieces of metal in their faces...

I have no idea why, but the trem bar on my Saber Prestige S1520FB came in chrome. It fits exactly into the holder, but the plastic bushings are black and incompatible with the standard white ones.

I was just kidding about throwing the trem bar. Just imagine the law suits......Still, it would be cool to have a bunch of different colors...is there a cost issue, or simply not a great demand, or what?

Chrome is easy, just sand off the black paint and buff it to a beautiful shine. I did that to 2 of mine.

how would i go about buffing this and with what grit sandpaper?

and would a heat gun work at all?or would that bend and warp the bar in the process?

I think I just used progressively finer grades of sandpaper. 800, 1000, 1500, then 0000 steel wool to finish it off.

'Course, the bars DO rust... you'll probably want to clear it when you're done.
