Zoom G7.1ut - any users?

I'm expecting a fairly nice tax return in my bank account next week and I'm thinking of getting a Zoom G7.1ut. I like the fact that it can be used with an amp or directly through the pc with the usb cable for recording purposes.

I also like the tube component of the unit. I played with a Hughes and Kettner tube factor which goes for similar money here and it sounded great, so if the Zoom can make a similar sounding distortion along with the rest of the effects I'll be stoked.

Has anyone on here got one and how do they find it? I understand that it's fairly complicated to create and save your own patches but that doesn't really bother me.

Re: Zoom G7.1ut - any users?

I have one. I have had it for about 2 weeks. I havent used it much though. I dont think the eiditing is all that tough all though by no means do I have it all figured out. This is my first Fx processor since my Rp 5 lol. I like the sounds of it all though I dont think the Artists patches sound like the artist particularly the Satch one. But all in all I am pretty satisfied. I bought mine off the bay brand new and it was about 40 bucks cheaper than any where I have seen them advertised.

Re: Zoom G7.1ut - any users?

G9.2TT = Traded it at Guitar Center..

I hated it, it sounds terrible, its models are piss poor, and it just sucked..

Wow that seems harsh huh? Well sorry its true. Dont WASTE your money.

I have owned the following
PodXT
Vamp2
G9.2TT

I will be going back to the PodXT, I never should of sold it..

Dont let the dillusions of tube make you think about this thing. The tubes made no difference..

Thank God I dont write product info for Zoom I would be fired.

Re: Zoom G7.1ut - any users?

I had a bit of a play with a G7 yesterday and I thought it was pretty good. I only played it through a little 35W combo though with a Godin Freeway Floyd. I'm going to try it next week with a better amp and one of my guitars to see how it is.

Fair enough there Ibanezcollector, it didn't work out for you. I'll keep in mind your thoughts. But I'll see how it goes again. If I don't get it I might still get a Hughes and Kettner Tube Factor pedal. That thing sounded awesome.

Re: Zoom G7.1ut - any users?

Sorry bout the clips mate,

I recorded some using the computer mic(couldnt do the whole USB thing) and I got hissing noise over the top of my playing? And having a wife and kids its kinda tough to record with a mic when they are around. When I get 'em I'll let you know.

Re: Zoom G7.1ut - any users?

No problems. I now own a G7.1ut myself now and I quite like it. I just need to get the right sort of USB cable so I can hook it up to the pc and then I'll try recording some stuff.

Re: Zoom G7.1ut - any users?

problem with the G series is also the recording bitrate which sucks..

I can record at 96k with the Podxt the G series isnt even 44.1k which is horrible, why they did that I will never know.

I have to take that back it will record at 44.1k and 48k but its 16 bit.. I knew there was something I hated about it..

So again I apologize and correct myself.. The Zooms will only record at 16 bit versus the pod at 24bit and at 96k
