You are looking at an Ibanez UV777BK 7 string from 1998.
This is the first year that this version of the guitar was made so it has the Lo Pro Edge tremolo.
The original Universe signature series case is included as is the whammy bar.
I got this guitar from e-bay last year but I haven't really taken to it.
I've got another 2 years of music college to come and I want something that I can take to and from there in just a padded gig bag and I don't feel comfortable doing that with a guitar this expensive so in the time I've owned it it has only left the house to be taken to a professional luthier.
The guitar has had some work on it (all done professionally) and I will try to describe it all as best as I can.
It originally had an EMG 707 pickup in the bridge but I had this replaced with the regular Dimarzio Blaze bridge that comes stock.
EMGs are wider than normal passive pickups so there is a little bit extra routed out from the bridge pickup cavity and so the original mirror pickguard was also cut wider. I ordered a new pickguard which is now fitted so the routing can't be seen at all.
From what I can see only a tiny little bit has been routed from each side of the pickup cavity.
Instead of putting the battery for the EMG in the control cavity the guy who owned this before me has routed out the small cavity on the left rear of the guitar to be larger and the battery was placed in there.
As you can see from the picture this looks bad so I had a cover made for it and now you can't tell it's there. It makes no difference in tone as it's not a vital part of the guitar.
Currently the guitar has Gauge 9 to 54 strings but when I received it it had 10's. I forgot to tell this to the luthier so he just put a new set of 9s on for me.
I think it could do with something thicker on the bottom string anyway but after having the work done I couldn't afford to go back to him again and pay for a set up so one will probably be required to get the guitar playing up to standard.
This should only be about £20 if you have it done professionally, it's obviously free if you know how to tweak the bridge etc but I don't so didn't want to mess with it before selling.
Other than this the guitar has some dings around the edges of the body but all of these are on the back, none on the front and none are visible from the front or when you're playing the guitar and they make no difference to tone.
The frets are in great condition as is the fretboard and inlays.
The back of the neck seems to be dirty around the nut/first few frets, I don't know if this could be cleaned or if it matters to you but I just wanted to list everything about the guitar I could think of.
The work I had done basically returned the guitar to how it comes stock from the factory and to look at it you would never know it had the EMG in it or any work done.
All that is needed now is possibly a little set up if you wanted.
I am asking for £700 including postage.
I accept Paypal.
Any questions please ask and if there are any other pictures you would like I will try to get them for you.
I've been using my Dad's e-bay account for the last few years (fame-and-fortune) which has 100% feedback and as you can see I have tried to describe everything about the guitar I can so you have no need to be hesitant of buying from me.
