Ibanez JEM777SK 1989 Amazing Condition Original Series
I bought this pink JEM from Max Cottam in early 2010 as he was thinning out his collection to focus more on his (Gibson IIRC) collection, when it was taken for a professional setup and has seen periodic attention since; otherwise it's been stored in the case to retain the vibrant colour and preventing the hardware from deteriorating.
There are some anomalies that I am declaring so that you are well informed and to avoid any disappointment. When I bought this, I was assured that this had not been refinished, which looking at the heel joint, this seems to be the case (compare the heel joint pic with that of my BFP listing). Although, there is a slight lip along the side of the neck joint. The neck has had a finish applied to it which will preserve the maple fretboard and shouldn’t pose too much of a problem should you decide it’s not for you. Personally, I find that it’s more playable, especially knowing that playing it won’t dirty the fretboard. The pickguard style appears to be of a later period, whether this is a transitional JEM or it has been replaced is unknown. This is a great playing and sounding guitar and with its still vibrant pink, looks stunning.
There is a tiny piece of paint missing from the upper-tip of the headstock and a little bit of the ‘swoosh’ from the logo scraped off - please see pictures.
With a keen eye, you will see that the paint is started to come off tip from the pickup selector switch. Please see the picture of the accessories at the end that I am including, which shows a yellow Dimarzio strap and a green NOS pickup selector tip – period correct neon green with white base. It will also be supplied with a hard case.
